Accessibility
Our commitment to a website and communities everyone can use.
Parr Investments wants everyone to be able to use this website and to find a home in one of our communities. This page says what we have done, what we are still working on, and how to tell us when something is in your way.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard most widely used for accessible websites in the United States, and the one we check against.
What the site does
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link at the top.
- Menus, photo viewers and pop-up cards keep keyboard focus while they are open, close with the Escape key, and hand focus back to where you were.
- Every photograph carries a description, and purely decorative pictures are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and background colors are checked for contrast each time the site’s look is changed, and a change that fails cannot be published.
- Moving pictures — the photo slideshow and any video behind a heading — can be paused, and do not move at all for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
- Forms have a label on every field, say plainly what needs fixing, and move focus to the first problem.
- Pages work at any zoom level and on any screen size, and nothing stops you from zooming.
What we are still working on
- Captions for the video tours, which play through YouTube. Until then, every floor plan and photograph is described in text on the same page, and the leasing office can describe a home over the phone.
- Floor plan drawings are images. The bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage of every plan are given in text beside each drawing.
Tell us
If any part of this site is hard to use, or if you need information from it in another form, email the office or call any leasing office. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will fix what we can and find another way to get you what you need.
Our communities
If you need a reasonable accommodation or modification because of a disability — to apply for a home, to tour one, or to live in one — tell the leasing office. Parr Investments complies with the Fair Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
